Auld Tyme Religion

Isn't the Old Tyme jest great?!?!
Steve and AnnMarie Alluise and we went to the Paideia Fundraiser that had an Old West Theme. I imagine I'll have the same pose the first time someone comes "a callin" on my daughter. Steve's ready to bury the evidence. Boys beware!

Children's Festival

Our kids participated in IslandRec's Children's Festival this weekend. Their 4-H group completed their service project by offering a small animal petting area outside of the large building. They shared their bunnies and other members shared their chickens so children of our community could have an opportunity to learn and experience. Ryan got to get onstage during a jump rope presentation. This was right up his ally, of course. There were lots of games, face painting (that's Liam as a tiger) and a lot of fun and information. This is such a great place to raise your kids!

The Friendly Skies

Two weeks ago, my (Cathy's) friend, Snooky and I flew to Bellingham for a little lunch and shopping. I've been blessed to be able to do this a few times with her while we've lived here. It is so wonderful getting up in the air and having a bird's eye view of our islands. This is a picture of Friday Harbor (with ferry in dock).

Spring Break on the Olympic Peninsula

Last week we spent the kids' Spring Break camping on the Olympic Peninsula. It was an awesome time of rest and recreating. We started out at Diamond Point near Sequim, went down to Ocean Shores, over to Olympia and then up to Burlington. Even though it rained some of the time, we had some cloud breaks that allowed us to especially enjoy the beach and some of the beauty of the area. We left the camper on the mainland on the way home to make room for my parents in July. We have so much more to see of our beautiful State and look forward to more trips in the future to discover its beauty.

Ryan and Liam Broke Their Legs

What a fantastic performance! Last night Ryan and Liam joined very talented Middle School students in the performance of Without Strings, a twist on the story of Pinocchio. Everyone did a wonderful job performing to an almost sold out house. There are 2 more performances this weekend and more fun to be had. Great job, guys!

Without Strings...Opens Tonight

This year's Middle School play, Without Strings opens tonight at the SJCT. It proves to top many others. Ryan's role is Dipstick. He is a California surfer-like pal of Pinocchio's who tempts Pinocchio into indulging his hedonistic desires in the land of Hedonia. Liam is also in this year's play as one of the Revelers on the way to Hedonia. We have tickets for all three performances and hope to see you there. If you don't have your tickets yet, get them quick. They are going fast.

Break a leg, Ryan and Liam!
